Introduction

Mycoplasma genitalium (Mg) is widely disseminated in human and animal hosts and is a common cause of genitourinary tract infections and other associated diseases, especially non-gonococcal urethritis. Mg can cause symptoms or complications such as non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), prostatitis, cervicitis, and endometritis in both men and women. If left untreated, it can lead to adverse outcomes such as ectopic pregnancy, infertility, and an increased risk of HIV transmission and infection.
